The Ohio Bobcats (9-4) will help kickoff the bowl season on Saturday evening when they face the Utah State Aggies (7-5) in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise, Idaho.
Ohio looks to bounce back after losing a fourth-quarter lead and eventually the MAC Championship in a frustrating loss to Northern Illinois two weeks ago. The Bobcats will also look to even up the series with Utah State in only the second meeting between the schools.
While Ohio comes of a stinging loss, the Aggies are rolling after winning their final five games of the season to lock up a bowl bid for the first time since 1997 which should give them somewhat of a home-field advantage since the school's Logan, Utah campus is within driving distance.
Utah State comes in with the 22nd ranked offense in the nation, relying heavily on the run with a 320 rushing yards per game. Ohio has the 12th ranked offense offering a more balanced attack with 277 passing yards and 221 rushing yards per game. With all of that offense, it should come down to which defense can make a dent and slow the other team down more on the smurf turf in Bronco Stadium.
