Xavier Vs. Butler Final Score: Musketeers Hold Off Bulldogs To Win 73-61

Xavier Musketeers star guard Tu Holloway continues to find new ways to lead his undefeated team to wins. On Wednesday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse against the Butler Bulldogs, Holloway went almost 30 game minutes before making his first field goal. But at the end of the night, his stat line looked pretty full, and more importantly, his Musketeers had won yet again, tripping Butler 73-61.

It was a tale of two different halves, as Xavier used an early 17-0 run to take a 21-6 lead and headed to halftime with a commanding 39-23 advantage as they held Butler to just five first-half field goals. The Bulldogs used an early 14-0 run in the second half to draw within 43-39, but they never got any closer than four points as Xavier slowly pulled away again.

Holloway did not make his first field goal until 10:31 remained in regulation, but he managed to contribute in other areas, scoring 16 points -- including making 14-16 from the line -- along with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 steals.

Xavier, 7-0 after the win, returns home to put their undefeated record on the line when they host the 5-2 Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday.
