The NBA Trade Deadline is two weeks away and the Cleveland Cavaliers are right in the middle of all the NBA Trade Rumors. The reasons are simple - the Cavaliers have lost 36 of their last 37 games, they have a huge trade-exception, which is like free money to NBA teams, they have some assets that teams looking to make a run this year may find attractive.
The names you are likely to hear in the coming days include Mo Williams, Antawn Jamison and even Anderson Varejao. Despite Varejao's injury, there seems to be plenty of interest - though any deal for Andy would be a long-term investment for the team that acquires him.
There is also, of course, veteran swingman Anthony Parker. Parker is attractive for a few reasons - he's a veteran that has proven he can play in the NBA. Parker can play a bit of defense. He's been to the playoffs in the past. Most importantly, Parker's contract expires at the end of the season. That is always attractive to NBA teams.
We are beginning to hear murmurs that the Chicago Bulls may have eyes for Parker, especially if he can prove his back is 100% after he missed 8 games in January. Parker wouldn't bring the Cavaliers much - likely a 2nd Round pick - but draft picks are assets, assets that can be used in a package for bigger assets.
Anthony Parker is obviously not part of the Cavaliers long-term plans, so getting anything of value for him now would be a great move for the Cavaliers.
