Deshaun Thompson has been in a funk for the Ohio State Buckeyes. His production, and minutes, have been shrinking, and the Buckeyes consistency has gone along with it. Thompson came back strong today, and the Buckeyes were back to being the team looks like it could be there come National Championship time.
Thompson scored 22 points, 16 in the first half. as the Buckeyes jumped all over the Indiana Hoosiers at Value City Arena 82-61. The victory was even more impressive since Buckeyes freshman Jared Sullinger was a non-factor after picking up two early fouls. Sullinger scored just 5 points in 13 minutes.
Jon Diebler and David Lighty picked up the slack for the Buckeyes, however, scoring 11 points each and William Buford chipped in 15 for the Buckeyes who improved to 27-2, 14-2 in the Big Ten.
Indiana was led Verdell Jones who had 14 points. Christian Watford had 12 for the Hoosiers who shot just 38.5% from the field.
