Three Players The Browns Are Interested In Come Draft Time

The Cleveland Browns have attended workouts or have scheduled private workouts with at least three players over the past week: QB Cameron Newton, QB Andy Dalton, and CB Jimmy Smith.

Cleveland is one of nine teams who plan on evaluating Newton. It seems possible that all of the other teams could draft Newton in the first round. As for why Cleveland is looking into him, it could be in the rare event that he falls to the second round. Stranger things have happened.

Dalton had an outstanding Pro Day at TCU, completing 49-of-52 passes with two of his incompletions being dropped passes. He is expected to be taken in the second round.

The Browns had members at Smith’s Pro Day as the cornerback reportedly had a “solid” day, with Gil Brandt projecting him as the third best cornerback in the draft behind Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukamara. The Browns could consider him with their second-round pick.
