According to sources at Pro Football Talk and the National Football Post, the Cleveland Browns have been very busy with their pre-draft workouts. We have already reported the visits of quarterbacks Cam Newton of Auburn and TCU’s Andy Dalton, but what about the other positions?
↵With the sixth pick, I think the guys right now that the Browns are looking at in terms of pre-draft private workouts are LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson, Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller, and the aforementioned Newton. The Browns are also looking closer at Wisconsin offensive tackle Gabe Carimi, who is projected as a mid-late first round pick. They could probably trade down and still get him if they wanted him.
↵The Browns have also scheduled a private workout with Arizona defensive end Brooks Reed, who is right now being considered a late first round pick, but the Browns might be able to get him with their early second round choice.
↵Some other interesting names on the list are Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray, a speedster who would compliment Peyton Hillis. Murray has battled injuries throughout his career but he has a ton of ability, and could be good value in the third round.
↵Reports also indicate the Browns are looking at two defensive backs—Miami’s DeMarcus Van Dyke and South Carolina’s Chris Culliver. Both players are expected to be mid-late round picks.
