A Disturbing Possibility: Sacramento Kings To Be Relocated?

Yes, I know it does not directly involve a Cleveland team, but in some ways it does resemble what happened 16 years ago with the Browns. Here again is a loyal fan base -- which has sold out every home game in 17 of 26 seasons --  being told that their team will probably be moved.

This time it involves the Sacramento Kings of the NBA, who, according to this story on SB Nation,  will be relocated to Anaheim, Calif., which would give the league three teams within short driving distance of each other.

The article cited gives nineteen reasons why this would be a bad move for the NBA. It is a good read and I highly recommend it.

Let's hope some genius does not decide that the Cavaliers would look oh-so-better playing in -- say -- Columbus or Cincinnati. After all, as history has shown in all the major sports, fan loyalty means diddly-squat. We have seen a prime example of that in Cleveland.

Sacramento (which would become the largest market without a major pro team) -- trust me, we empathize, if this really happens to you.
