This is written in the white-heat of the moment, and perhaps I am full of hot air.
↵So be it.
↵But this is what I think is happening to the Indians this afternoon. Not bad pitching. Not ineffective hitting.
↵What is happening is that the Tribe is facing a pitcher who has thrown two no-hitters, who was part of a shutout on Opening Day LAST year. Hence, the Tribe came IN feeling that they had to be perfect — to even have a chance. And, of course, once the pressure was off and the game was out of hand, the hitters relaxed and began producing.
↵I may be wrong.
↵But rather than test that theory, hey…schedule-makers? Could the Indians not face Chicago NEXT Opening Day?
↵Two of these is plenty enough.
