Well, it looks like the Tiger has landed.
↵Former Clemson defensive end Da’Quan Bowers is one of many important prospect visits happening in Cleveland this week, and it looks like football is not the only thing on his mind:
↵↵↵This food smelling delicious, who wants to do dinner in cleveland tonight? Lol
↵
That the latest from Bowers’ Twitter account. Bowers is a guy who has been receiving a lot of negative attention recently, and it’s probably a little unwarranted.
↵Bowers clearly isn’t a speed demon, running barely under five seconds reportedly in his 40 yard dash, but he is a vibrant personality that whatever team that drafts him is going to love.
↵There has been a ton of question about Bowers’ knee after playing half the season with a torn meniscus, however he did not even need an MRI at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.
↵Bowers led the nation with 16 sacks last year and was a force against the run on his way to a fantastic season for the Tigers, but it didn’t come easily.
↵His first two seasons at Clemson after being the top prep recruit in the country were below average at best, and just when it seemed it couldn’t get any worse, tragedy struck. In the same year, Bowers lost his father as well as his mentor Gaines Adams (former Bears DE and top draft pick).
↵Bowers responded by having one of the best individual statistical seasons in the country for a defender, on his way to a top five NFL Draft grade.
↵He could be the anchor at defensive end the Browns are looking for in their new four man front.
