I will be the first to admit that the last two Indians’ games in Anaheim hurt. In fact, last night’s was downright painful, and teeth-gnashingly frustrating.
↵It is hard to think of anything worse than watching a team blow chance after chance to score; to watch them finally catch up and then burn through the best of the bullpen. It leaves a fan waiting for the guillotine to fall, and last night — as almost inevitably happens — it did fall.
↵But the Indians come home after twelve games in first place. When the season began — and especially after the first two games — would you have taken that?
↵I would have.
↵So cry havoc!...and let slip the boys of summer! There may be a pennant race in Cleveland after all. Let’s focus on that, and let’s wash some of the grit away from back-to-back bad losses — beginning tomorrow night, when Baltimore comes to town.
