Grady Sizemore Activated, Playing Today; Mitch Talbot To The DL

Grady Sizemore, who has not appeared in a regular-season game for the Indians since last May, was activated for today's game against the Orioles and is in the lineup and leading off for the Tribe.

To make room for Sizemore, the Indians have placed pitcher Mitch Talbot on the disabled list, with what is being called an elbow strain. Talbot will probably miss 3-4 weeks, although that status could be changed upon further examination.

This is definitely not a serious thing,'' Talbot said. "We had an MRI and it was negative. The doctor said I have some inflammation caused by a strain of the UCL (ulnar collateral ligament). It's just going to take some time.''

This move probably means that Jeanmar Gomez will be called up to take Talbot's spot. In the rotation's present order, Talbot would have been due to pitch in Kansas City on Tuesday night, so look for a move to be made sometime between now and Tuesday afternoon.
