The Cavs have achieved what I had hoped they would — they have won 16 games, and so, notwithstanding the 26-game horror show, they will still not finish with either their worst record ever, or even tied for it, as two prior teams won only 15 games.
↵So now what? Do we hope that Cleveland loses their last five games? Do we really wish one of our teams to lose?
↵’Tis a dilemma, for sure.
↵Things would have been easier had Minnesota not chosen this time to have a metaphorical Metrodome roof collapse to their own season with 17 victories. The T-wolves have lost eleven straight and you have to figure they might “run the table”.
↵If the Cavs “catch” Minnesota, they would each have the same number of chances by taking the average of the chances of the worst and second-worst teams and giving each team that “average”. In other words, less chances for Cleveland in a weighted system where only three times has the worst team even WON the Lottery, since 1990.
↵So Go Cavs!... I think... I am not so sure.
