Wrestling - or the soap opera we call professional wrestling - lost one of it's all-time greats earlier today when 'Macho Man Randy Savage died after he suffered a heart attack and wrecked his 2009 Jeep Cherokee into a tree. He was 58. If you were a teenager in the 80's and early 90's you certainly remember Savage. His iconic "OHHHHH YEAAAAA" to go along with the sunglasses, the brightly colored outfits and, of course, Miss Elizabeth, were unforgettable.
↵In many ways, Savage, along with Hulk Hogan, were the face of the golden age of the WWE(then WWF). It was the beginning of Wrestlemania, and the WWE was beginning a renaissance. Savage was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1952 and spent much of his life in Louisville, KY. As many people know, Savage was married at one time to Miss Elizabeth. They were divorced in 1992.
↵Savage wrestled in the WWE from 1985 until 1994. He then spent time in the WCW and NWO. During the 1990's, Savage was a spokesman for Slim Jim.
↵It's a sad day when part of your childhood is gone forever. While Professional Wrestling is nothing more than entertainment, Savage was one of the most entertaining people in the sport. He will be missed.
