When Winning One Out Of Three Might Be Considered A Triumph

The Indians now take their road show to Anaheim for a three-game set with the Angels, and this might be one of the few cases where taking one game out of three would be considered good enough, and anything more than one would be seen as frosting.

The Angels are in first place, but so are the Indians (obviously). But the real deal this weekend is that the Tribe will be facing Jered Weaver (6-1, 1.39 ERA) and Dan Haren (4-2, 1.76) ERA.

↵

Haren, it will be remembered, tossed a one-hitter against Cleveland on April 12.

Satisfaction in winning one out of three? Yes, there would be a little, especially since that would mean a .500 road trip to Pitching Purgatory. And -- again -- anything more would be frosting.

Would going 3-3 in Oakland and Anaheim be good enough for you?
