Winning 7 Of The Next 10 Would Sound Really Good For 1st-Place Indians

The Indians have crept back into first place by a percentage point over the Detroit Tigers, although Detroit is likely to sneak back ahead this afternoon with Justin Verlander going for the Tigers against the New York Mets.

I was thinking of the next ten games before the All-Star break and I have a real capital idea, Indians: how about taking seven of the ten?

I won’t even get greedy and ask for any sweeps. Just take two-of-three in Cincinnati (doable -- you already swept the Reds in Cleveland), then take two-of-three at home from the Yankees (you beat them once in NY and could have had more) and top it off with three-of-four from the Toronto Blue Jays, also at home.

How about it Indians? Go to the All-Star break 49-40 and we will take our chances on the Tigers not being hotter than that.

Doesn’t hurt to dream…right?
