Jarrett Brown's rise began last offseason when he was battling to make it in the NFL, and scouts really started to notice him. Though Tim Tebow was the headliner at the 2010 Senior Bowl, it was Jarrett Brown who scouts had been raving about leading up to the process, and there were some including Todd McShay who thought he could be a real gem.
It turned out that Brown didn't get drafted, as he was mainly a lot of potential and still a relative unknown, but it didn't take him long to get picked up by the San Francisco 49ers. Through a set of circumstances, Brown wound up in Cleveland this offseason, and has really been impressing the Browns' coaching staff as the teams' third quarterback behind Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace.
Brown is known for having a really, really strong arm, and new Browns head coach Pat Shurmur has been really impressive by that along with his ability to throw on the run. There's no doubt that Brown is a talented kid, which you can see evidence of in this highlight reel from his senior season at West Virginia.
Cleveland Browns fans will be getting a closer look at Brown in the team's first pre-season game, as he is expected to play a good majority of the contest against the Green Bay Packers.
Hopefully Brown can prove to be an exciting prospect for the Browns in these first couple of pre-season games, and possibly earn himself a roster spot before all is said and done. If he continues on the pace he has been on at training camp, I think he's a near lock to be on the opening day 53.
