Cleveland Browns Training Camp Links: Sheldon Brown is the Real "Iron Man"

Here is a cool article about Sheldon Brown, a Cleveland Browns cornerback. Brown has not missed a game, even through a torn rotator cuff. He is one tough dude.

ESPN's AFC North blogger James Walker was on site for Browns training camp. Here are his notes and observations.

Cleveland Browns GM Phil Heckert feels the team has a pretty fine set of linebackers.

As we reported earlier, Kent State alum and former New Orleans Saints defensive back Usama Young has been penciled in as the safety mate of second year player T.J. Ward.

Rookie defensive lineman Jabari Fletcher was carted off the field Friday at Cleveland Browns camp. Mary Kay Cabot has more on that story as well as her other observations from training camp. One that I found particularly exciting for Browns fans:

Taylor a force: First-round pick Phil Taylor has made his presence felt in his first two practices. "He's a giant," said Shurmur. "Just standing behind it [the defense] today, by structure we tried to run it right a little bit just to see. He held up in there pretty good. When you have a big force in the middle, that makes it difficult to run between the tackles then that makes in tough on the offense. You start eliminating options. Hopefully he can provide that for us along with [Ahtyba] Rubin."

Another Browns beat reporter took to Twitter today to answer fans' questions, and Tony Grossi (the one answering questions) had this to say about the difference on the defensive side of the ball without Rob Ryan in town:

": What is the feeling in browns camp on Defense with Rob Ryan gone? It has to be a complete 180?"//Completely.

You've got to wonder if that means for good or for bad. The Ryan family is generally pretty upbeat and intriguing, so what's the polar opposite of that?
