An Amazing Story From A Day At The Races

I have to thank our editor, John Bena, for sending me the link to this story, because it is beyond cool and finally allows a little smile in connection with a horrible day and its anniversary.

The winners of the first three races at Belmont in New York on Sunday wore the numbers....wait for it....9, 1, and 1.

Belmont served as a staging area for workers and emergency vehicles in the days immediately following the destruction of the World Trade Center.

Quirky story, kind of a miraculous story, and I have to admit it, a story which brought a tear to my eye.
