2011 U.S. Open Tennis Championship: A Look At Completed Matches

As the first weekend of the U.S. Open tennis championship dawns, this is a good time to have a look at matches that have been completed in the first four days of the tournament.

Here is a general overview of all matches, wherein you can link to each sub-category of the big picture, such as "Men's Singles", "Mixed Doubles" etc. if you prefer to be selective with your information intake.

It is worth noting that the Men's 2-seed, Roger Nadal, is in action on Friday against Nicolas Mahut, while the Women's top seed, Caroline Wozniacki, is paired with Vania King.

Looking at Americans in action in the Friday singles, we find the highest-rated woman in action to be Serena Williams at 28. Serena faces 4-seed Victoria Azarenka today. On the men's side, no. 21 Andy Roddick takes on fellow American Jack Sock.

As the winnowing process continues and the contender-list shrinks, look for more in-depth coverage of matches. For now though, with such a plethora of match-ups, it is still a wide-open field, and thus so is this coverage wide-open...for now.
