Coming off a massive win against the No. 11 Georgetown Hoyas, the Cincinnati Bearcats are trying to avoid a letdown as they currently trail the Villanova Wildcats 45-40 at halftime at Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati.
Dion Dixon, who co-starred in the win against the Hoyas with 22 points and 4 steals, is off to another excellent start for Cincinnati, having made 4-5 three-pointers to go into the halftime break with 17 points.
However, the Bearcats have been unable to stop the Wildcats, who came in ranked 200th in the nation shooting 42.4 % from the field, but have made 64.0 % in the first half.
Cincinnati (13-4) entered the game with a 3-1 record in conference play, while Villanova (8-9) entered with a 1-4 record in the Big East, which left them ahead of only the 0-4 Pittsburgh Panthers.
