Cleveland State Vs. Valparaiso: Vikings Try To Keep Rolling Against Crusaders

Cleveland State looks to keep pace at the top of the Horizon League.

The Cleveland State Vikings (15-3, 5-1) will try to complete the Indiana sweep this weekend when the visit the Valparaiso Crusaders (11-7,4-2) on Sunday afternoon.

On Friday the Vikings jumped out to an early lead before eventually beating Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse, 76-69. Cleveland State will look to follow the same formula when they try to win their fourth-straight Horizon League game at Valparaiso in Northwest Indiana.

The Vikings enter the game just a half game behind UW-Milwaukee at the top of the Horizon League standings. D'Aundray Brown continues to pace Cleveland State with 12 points per game while backcourt running mate Trevon Harmon adds 11.5 points per game.

Valparaiso sits a game behind the Vikings in the standings after beating Youngstown State 76-62 on Friday. The Crusaders rely on a pair of high scoring forwards to handle the scoring inside and out. Kevin Van Wijk averages 15.5 points per game while swingman Ryan Broekhoff pitches in 15.2 points per game while shooting 36% from behind the arc.
