NCAA Bracketology: Ohio State A No. 1 Seed According To ESPN

Joe Lunardi's latest NCAA basketball bracketology is out, and the expert has favored the Ohio State Buckeyes a little more than SB Nation. In his latest bracket, the Buckeyes are switched with Baylor from the SB Nation bracket. He has Ohio State as the No. 1 seed in the West Region, facing Weber State in the opening game:

  • The Cincinnati Bearcats sneak into Lunardi's bracket as one of the last four teams, being forced to play in the First Four in Dayton against Virginia Tech for the right to move on to face Gonzaga.
  • The same is true of the Xavier Musketeers across town, who are also in the First Four against Florida State in the South Region. Only the most cruel of selection committees would place Xavier and Cincinnati against each other after their brawl earlier this year.
  • The Cleveland St. Vikings are paired as a 15 seed in the South Region, and the Indiana Hoosiers, whom they had a memorable first round 14 over 3 upset against in 1986, would be their opponent.
  • The Dayton Flyers are listed as the No. 9 seed in the Midwest region against Wisconsin.
