The Miami (Ohio) Redhawks split two games against the Michigan Wolverines over the weekend.
Miami lost the first game 4-2 on Friday night in Michigan. The game was tied 2-2 after two periods before the Wolverines took control of the game in the third.
Miami bounced back and beat Michigan 4-3 on Saturday night. The Wolverines led 2-1 going into the final period, but the Redhawks exploded for three straight goals in the third to take command of the game.
By splitting, Miami fell one spot in the polls from No. 3 to No 4. Michigan fell from No. 6 to No. 8.
Elsewhere, the Ohio State Buckeyes split their two-game series with the Bowling Green Falcons over the weekend.
Ohio State won the first matchup 1-0 on Friday night, with Buckeyes goalie Brady Hjelle making 25 saves in the shutout.
Bowling Green got revenge on Saturday night, winning 4-3 in a shootout. The Falcons jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Buckeyes scored the next three goals to take a 3-2 lead into the third period. Brett Mohler tied it for the Falcons in the third, and they went on to win the shootout 1-0 in four rounds.
The Buckeyes sit at 2-2 after the two games, while the Falcons are at 1-4-2.
