Bowling Green Vs. Akron 2012: Game Time, TV Schedule, Odds And More

Week two in the MAC pits two talented teams against one another.

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Akron pushed Miami (OH) to the limit last week before losing by five points, while the Bowling Green Falcons dominated Rhode Island on the back of running back Anthon Samuel. Now, a high-flying Zips' offense meets a stout Bowling Green defense.

Despite being 1-4 on the season, the Akron Zips are boasting one of the best passing offenses in the NCAA, ranking 5th in college football as they throw for 361 yards per game. Last week, Dalton Williams had his best performance of the season, throwing for over 400 yards and four touchdowns, as he and leading receiver Marquelo Suel (457 yards receiving) have formed one of the most dangerous tandems in the county. Unfortunately for the Zips, it's their defense, allowing 41.2 points per game that is keeping that offense from getting them wins.

For Bowling Green, it has been all about the running game, as Anthon Samuel has run for 377 yards and seven touchdowns already in 2012. He struggled against Florida and Virginia Tech, but has averaged over seven yards per carry against Toledo and Rhode Island. Given how much Akron's defense has struggled, he should be poised for another big day.
