The Kent State Golden Flashes were sharp from the beginning, blowing out the host Eastern Michigan Eagles, 41-14, in MAC play.
Kent State was dominant on both sides of the ball, racking up 467 total yards of offense and holding Eastern Michigan to a puny 200 yards. The Golden Flashes did much of their work on the ground, compiling 321 yards rushing.
Kent State opened the scoring on a 42-yard field goal by Freddy Cortez and would really never look back. The Golden Flashes held a 17-7 lead at the half and extended that lead to 41-7 before the Eagles tacked on a final touchdown in garbage time.
With the victory, Kent State moved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in MAC play. Eastern Michigan remains winless on the season at 0-5.
