Andrew Weber-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Ohio State Buckeyes jumped up to No. 8 in the AP Top 25 following their thrashing of the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday.

Ohio State was previously ranked No. 12, but moved ahead of Saturday's losers LSU, Georgia, Texas and Florida State. Nebraska fell out of the rankings following their 63-38 loss to the Buckeyes after entering the game at No. 21.

The Alabama Crimson Tide still hold the top spot despite not playing Saturday. They received all 60 first-place votes. Oregon also maintained their spot at No. 2 after their victory over the Washington Huskies. The third spot is now held by the South Carolina Gamecocks, who defeated the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. Florida and West Virginia round out the top five.

Ohio State is joined in the Top 25 by the No. 25 Michigan Wolverines, who moved back into the rankings following their 44-13 victory over the Purdue Boilermakers. They are the only two Big Ten teams in the rankings.
