Big Ten Football Standings 2012: Ohio State Leads Leaders

The Buckeyes can't go to Indianapolis, but they currently lead the Leaders Division.

Andrew Weber-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Penn State Nittany Lions might be ineligible for the 2012 Big Ten Championship game, but they are certainly not playing like it. Both teams have gotten off to fast starts in the league as the only programs to win their first two conference games.

Those victories have Penn State and Ohio State atop the Leaders Division through the sixth week of the regular season. Of the other four teams, Wisconsin defeated Illinois for the only other win. Indiana and Illinois are 0-2, while Purdue is 0-1 after getting pounded by Michigan in West Lafayette.

Purdue and Wisconsin face off in West Lafayette this week in a game that will go a very long way toward deciding the divisional representative in the title game. Ohio State and Penn State each have a role to play as well. Ohio State goes to Indiana while Penn State has the week off.
