The Ohio State men's hockey team will host Northern Michigan in the first of back-to-back games in two days Friday at 7:05 p.m. ET.
The Buckeyes are 2-3-3 overall heading into action Friday. In CCHA play, Ohio State is 1-1-2-1 this season. The Buckeyes last played Saturday against Alaska, which was a 3-1 loss. Before that, they tied back-to-back games against Alaska and Bowling Green.
Northern Michigan is 4-4-2 overall this season and 1-3-2-0 in CCHA action. After starting the season 4-0, the Wildcats have gone 0-4-2 since.
The Buckeyes are led by four sophomore forwards this season. Max McCormick is the team's leading scorer with two goals and three assists. Ryan Dzingel and Tanner Fritz each have four points (two goals, two assists) to follow McCormick in scoring, and Matt Johnson has three points on three goals.
Senior Matt Thurber is Northern Michigan's leading point-scorer this season. The forward only has one goal but is on the record for 10 assists. Freshman Cohen Adair has a team-high five goals.
