Citing hard work and competitiveness on defense and special teams, Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur named cornerback Buster Skrine as the team's fourth captain for its Week 9 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

"The captain this week will be Buster Skrine, will be the fourth captain. He's done a nice job on special teams, he competes obviously, on defense. They felt like he would be worthy and I think he's a good choice."

Skrine, a second-year player out of Tennessee-Chattanooga, has played in all eight games this season, starting two. He has compiled 53 tackles and eight pass breakups. Skrine's best game came in a Week 5 loss to the New York Giants, when he had nine tackles and broke up three passes. Skrine was a fifth-round pick by the Browns in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Cleveland (2-6) has struggled in most areas of competition this season, and pass defense has not been an exception. The Browns rank 25th in the NFL, allowing 260.8 passing yards per game.

The Browns and Ravens meet Sunday at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on CBS.
