Cavaliers vs. Grizzlies: Game time, TV schedule, preview and more

Dion Waiters and the Cleveland Cavaliers travel to Memphis to face Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph and the 9-2 Grizzlies Monday night.

Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE

The Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to face the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night looking to keep their head above water in the absence of star point guard Kyrie Irving.

Irving has not played since Nov. 21 with a finger injury and is expected to miss up to four weeks. Without Irving, the Cavaliers task of scoring on the fifth-ranked Grizzlies defense becomes a much tougher task. Rookie Dion Waiters has shouldered the offensive load the past three games, scoring close to 20 points per game.

Anderson Varejao has also played well with Irving out, especially in the rebounding game where he has averaged close to 15 per game the last three games.

The Cavaliers defense will be faced with the challenge of stopping Rudy Gay and the Grizzlies offense, which has won 9 of their last 10 games. Gay is averaging 20.1 points, 2.5 assists and 5.7 rebounds, while big man Zach Randolph has dominated the post with 16.7 points and 13.6 rebounds per game.
