2012 College Football Rankings: Ohio State just outside top five

After a come from behind victory over the Michigan Wolverines, the Ohio State Buckeyes continued their move up the SB Nation BlogPoll rankings, moving from seventh to sixth. They even garnered three first place votes, more than the three teams above them combined.

Although the Buckeyes can't compete in a bowl game, they did finish a perfect season when they beat the Wolverines last weekend 26-21 in Columbus. Their in-state counterparts, the Kent State Golden Flashes also moved up the BlogPoll. They rocketed up five positions from 23rd to 18th, helped by a number of teams ahead of them losing last weekend.

The Golden Flashes' season isn't over. They'll play the Northern Illinois Huskies in the MAC championship this Friday at Ford Field in Detroit. A win in that game still gives them at least an outside shot at a birth in a BCS bowl game.
