The regular season is over for college football. All that's generally left to do is play conference championship games. Although the Ohio State Buckeyes finished with a perfect 12-0 record, NCAA violations will keep them out of the Big Ten Championship.
But the state of Ohio will still have a team playing in a conference championship this week. The Kent State Golden Flashes finished the season with a perfect conference record when they beat the Ohio Bobcats 28-6. As champions of the MAC's East division, they'll take on the Northern Illinois Huskies in the MAC Championship this Friday in Detroit.
It won't be an easy task for the Golden Flashes in the championship game. The Huskies have won 11 straight and only dropped their opening game of the season, a one point loss against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Both teams run the football a lot with the Golden Flashes ranked 11th in the country in rushing yards per game and the Huskies even higher at ninth in the country.
MAC Championship: Kent St. Golden Flashes vs. Northern Illinois Huskies, 7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2
Big Ten Championship: No. 12 Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Wisconsin Badgers, 8:17 p.m. ET, FOX
