The win left the Bulls alone atop the Central Division and the Cavs in a third-place tie with the Pacers, who handed the Bobcats a season-opening 90-89 victory after Charlotte had lost its final 23 games of the 2011-12 season.
The Bucks defeated the hosting Celtics, 99-88, to begin the season 1-0 behind a 21-point, 13-assist performance from Brandon Jennings.
The Pistons fell to 0-2 and sit in last place in the Central following a 92-89 loss to the Suns.
In other action around the league, the Clippers dropped the new-look Lakers to 0-3 with a 105-95 win and the Knicks romped over the defending champion Heat, 104-84. James Harden had his second sterling performance in leading the Rockets over the Hawks, 109-102, and the Magic scored a solid home win over the Nuggets, 102-89.
