The Toledo Rockets are nine-point underdogs to the Utah State Aggies this week, as pundits are betting on Utah State's eighth-ranked defense to be too much for Toledo to overcome in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
Allowing just 15.4 points per game, the Aggies have excelled at keeping teams out of the end zone, but with an over/under of 58-1/2, there are questions of whether their vaunted defense can stop Toledo running back David Fluellen, who has over 1,400 yards on the season.
A large reason why Utah State is favored is their quarterback. Chuckie Keeton threw for over 3,100 yards in 2012, completing 67.6-percent of his passes. When paired with RB Kerwynn Williams, they form a big one-two punch on offense. The Rockets have big-play potential, however, as wide receivers Bernard Reedy and Alonzo Russell give Toledo two weapons that are deep threats.
Ultimately, the lines are favoring the ranked team, as the No. 22 Aggies earned their position with a signature win over Louisiana Tech on Nov. 17.
