The Cincinnati Bearcats are all set to play the Duke Blue Devils in the 2012 Belk Bowl, which will be held on Dec. 27. But there is uncertainty surrounding the Cincinnati program, which could lose head coach Butch Jones to another school prior to the game.
Jones' name is making the rounds in the latest coaching carousel, and he spent Sunday interviewing for Purdue's vacant head coaching position. Jones also has been mentioned in conjunction with the University of Colorado job.
He replaced Brian Kelly as Cincinnati's head coach prior to the 2010 season, and he has won 19 games over the last two seasons. The Bearcats finished in both the AP and Coaches polls last season after going 10-3 and winning the Liberty Bowl. They head into their matchup with Duke at 9-3.
The Belk Bowl is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 27, and ESPN will televise the game.
