2012 NFL Combine: Four Buckeyes Invited To NFL Combine

Four Ohio State Buckeyes were among those invited to the NFL Draft Combine.

The NFL on Tuesday release the names of players invited to the NFL Draft Combine. Four Ohio State Buckeyes were on the official invite list. They are:

Mike Adams, offensive tackle

Mike Brewster, center

Dan Herron, running back

DeVier Posey, wide receiver

Adams is a 6-foot-7, 323-pounder. He was a three-year starter and was named first-team All-Big Ten as a junior, and second-team as a senior despite playing only seven games (he was among those suspended for the "Tattoo Five" scandal). SB Nation’s current mock draft projects Adams going to the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 11.

Brewster, 6-5, 305, started in 62 games at Ohio State and in 2010 was listed as a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, which goes to the nation’s top center. Also in 2010 he was an All-American and on a first-team all-Big Ten player.

The 5-10, 205-pound Herron finished his Ohio State career with 2,869 rushing ranks (10th all-time at OSU) and 33 touchdowns (eighth all-time).

Finally, the 6-2, 210-pound Posey finished his OSU career with 136 receptions, 18 touchdowns and 1,955 yards, each numbers that rank in the top eight in Buckeye history.

Adams, Herron and Posey were all suspended five games in 2011 for NCAA violations.

There were more than 300 prospects invited to the Combine this season. All told 45 Big Ten players were invited. Here is a school-by-school breakdown:

Wisconsin: 8

Penn State: 7

Iowa: 7

Michigan State: 6

Ohio State: 4

Illinois: 4

Nebraska: 4

Michigan: 3

Northwestern: 1
