Valparaiso Vs. Cleveland State: Vikings Look To Extend Win Streak To 6 Games

The Cleveland St. Vikings are looking to extend its current winning streak to six games. Valparaiso stands in the way.

The Cleveland St. Vikings welcome the Valparaiso Crusaders to the Wolstein Center on Thursday night for a battle atop the Horizon League standings. The Vikings are currently atop the Horizon league standings at 10-2 (20-04 overall), but the Crusaders are right behind there with a 10-3 record (17-8 overall).

Cleveland State also enters this game on a five-game winning streak, matching two earlier streaks of the same length. However, the Vikings have already lost one game to Valpo this season, a 72-66 decision on Jan. 15. The team shot just 40 percent from the field, while Valpo hit on 60 percent of its shots.

Kevin Van Wijk scored 23 points for Valpo in that contest, making 10-of-13 shots. The Crusaders are winners in seven of its last eight games. The only loss came against Green Bay on Jan. 26, 75-60. Van Wijk and Ryan Broekhoff average 15.1 and 15.0 points each, respectively.
