After months of college basketball, Selection Sunday has finally arrived. The individual fates of 68 college teams will be decided once and for all in the matter of minutes, without a single basketball hitting the floor. For many, the anticipation makes it hard to look away. For others, it's impossible to watch.
Four local schools, the Ohio St. Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bearcats, Ohio Bobcats and Xavier Musketeers, are already assured to be among the list of combatants, and thankfully enough, not one of them will have to deal with the angst that comes from being left behind.
Hosting the Selection Show yet again is the trio of Greg Gumbel, Seth Davis, and Greg Anthony. They will be joined via satellite from the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis by Jim Nantz, Clark Kellogg, Steve Kerr, and Jeff Hathaway, Chairman of the NCAA Basketball Committee. It's also safe to expect a slew of live reaction shots as well as interviews with coaches and players throughout the broadcast.
As far as the format goes, much like in past years, each region is sandwiched between commercial breaks and cutaways and will be revealed to the unknowing public at separate times. When the final bracket is unveiled, only then will the endless debate about sleepers, snubs, and favorites shift to the forefront.
Here are the details:
Time: 6:00 - 7:00 pm EST
TV Channel: CBS, Online/Mobile*
* The Selection Show will also be available through online and mobile outlets, and can be accessed from NCAA.com, CBSSports.com, and SI.com.
