Ohio's D.J. Cooper Driven By 'Napoleon Complex', Will Lead Bobcats Against Mighty Michigan

The Ohio Bobcats will look for their second big upset in the NCAA Tournament in the last three years. The Bobcats knocked off Georgetown in the 2010 tournament, running the Hoyas off the floor with relative ease. They will look to repeat that feat on Friday night in Nashville. If Ohio is to pull off the upset, they will be lead by their feisty 5'9 guard D.J. Cooper. The Chicago native has an edge to him which has served John Groce well this season, and they Bobcats' guard will need that confidence going up against storied Michigan and star point guard Trey Burke.

Jon Greenberg of ESPN Chicago, had an excellent profile of Cooper heading in tonight's game, and he describes that attitude which has gotten the diminutive point guard to where he is. Excerpt after the jump:

Via Jon Greenberg of ESPNChicago:

Cooper, a Hazel Crest, Ill., native, is listed, generously, at 5-foot-11, with a Rajon Rondo-like wingspan and he plays with an edge familiar to Chicago point guards. It's one that can be unsettling to teammates, opponents and fans. He's got a bit of a Napoleon complex.

"I think that's where my attitude comes from," he said of his smaller stature and status as a mid-major player. "I want to prove a point that I can win and that I'm one of the elite guards in the country."
