March Madness 2012, Florida State Vs. St. Bonaventure: Seminoles Win 66-63, Will Face Cincinnati In Round 3

On Friday, the Round of 64 continued with plenty of action. One of the most surprising matchups of the day pitted the No. 3 seed Florida St. Seminoles against the No. 14 seed St. Bonaventure Bonnies. Fans of the Cincinnati Bearcats were watching this game intently, as UC will play the winner in the next round. Through nearly the entire game, it appeared as though St. Bonaventure was crafting their very own Cinderella story. It was not to be, however, as FSU took a late lead and hung on to advance with the 66-63 win.

The Bonnies led by as many as 10 points throughout the game, but a six-minute scoring drought by St. Bonaventure helped allow the Seminoles to close the gap. Florida State finally managed to tie up the game for the first time with seven minutes left in regulation. Florida State sunk a three-pointer with five minutes remaining to take their very first lead of the game. The two teams fought tooth and nail over the last minutes, with both exchanging clutch three-pointers, but Florida State managed to hang on for the win.

Florida State forward Bernard James led all players in the game with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
