Horizon League Tournament 2012 Scores: Youngstown State Falls 93-76 To Detroit

The Horizon League Tournament is over for the Youngstown State Penguins. They lost 93-76 to the Detroit Titans in the second round of the tournament on Friday.

The Penguins could not overcome a lopsided first half, despite 25 points in the game from Damian Eargle. He also had seven rebounds to lead Youngstown State. Detroit jumped out to a 50-32 lead after the first half that they were never able to recover from as the game continued.

Ray McCallum led the Titans with 22 points. He also had seven assists and four rebounds in the game. McCallum was one of five Detroit players to score in double figures. Eli Holman had 10 rebounds on the night.

Detroit outpaced their opponents, shooting 60 percent from the field versus 54.7 percent for the Penguins. Detroit also sunk 76 percent of their free throws in the effort.

Butler beat Milwaukee in the other Horizon tournament game. They will advance to play top-seeded Valparaiso. Detroit will face Cleveland State in the other semifinal game.
