NCAA Tournament 2012, Ohio State Vs. Cincinnati: Buckeyes Run Away Late, Advance To Elite Eight With 81-66 Win

The No. 2 seeded Ohio State Buckeyes are headed to the Elite Eight to take on No. 1 Syracuse this Saturday after knocking off the No. 6 Cincinnati Bearcats Thursday night by 15, 81-66.

The Buckeyes had a 12-point lead at the half, but the Bearcats came storming back by starting the second with a 24-8 run to take a four-point lead. Ohio State was not phased, though, as they responded with a 20-5 run of their own to recapture control and cruise into the Elite Eight.

In the first half, it was Deshaun Thomas who led the Buckeyes with 20 points, but it was Jared Sullinger who did the hard labor in the second. He had 13 points to finish out a strong 23-point effort to supplement his game-high 11 rebounds. Thomas finished with 26 and seven rebounds.

We have video of some second half Sullinger highlights:
