Since upsetting Michigan in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament, the Ohio Bobcats assumed the role of this year's little school that could, grabbing that mantle from VCU who went all the way to the final four in 2011. On the strength of a big second half, Ohio took the heavily favored UNC Tarheels to overtime. The underdog story ended there, as UNC scored 10 more in the extra frame to narrowly pull out a 73-65 win over Ohio.
Tyler Zeller's 23 rebounds gave UNC a big edge. The Tarheels won the battle of the boards with 55 rebounds versus just 27 for the Bobcats.
Zeller finished with a double-double, scoring 20 points. Reggie Bullock also had a double-double for UNC, with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
UNC had few answers for Ohio's Walter Offutt. The junior guard finished with 26 points. Nick Kellogg had 14 points and eight rebounds.
With 26 seconds left in regulation, Offutt forced overtime with this layup, right after missing a free throw.
