In the first half of the Elite 8, Jared Sullinger was in early foul trouble against Syracuse, forcing Thad Matta to go to his bench and put in Evan Ravenel. Unfortunately, Ravenel also picked up two quick fouls. Sully played only six minutes while Ravenel was on the floor for five. Fortunately for Matta, Amir Williams held his own against the Orange's front line. He had a huge dunk along the baseline off a nice feed from Deshaun Thomas on the inside of the zone. On the defensive end, he had a huge block of Syracuse star Kris Joseph, announcing his presence and emphatically swatting it away.
