Bracketology 2012: Ohio State A Unanimous No. 2; Akron, Xavier, Dayton On The Bubble

The NCAA Tournament men's basketball field of 68 will be determined in less than a week, and currently the Ohio State are projected to earn a No. 2 seed. Meanwhile, Xavier, Akron and Dayton are on the bubble and just need to win.

Selection Sunday is less than a week away, and there's a bunch of local men's college basketball programs trying to either improve its seed or earn an invite to the NCAA Tournament, which begins next Tuesday.

According to the latest posting by the expert Bracketologists, which all updated their brackets Monday, the Ohio St. Buckeyes a unanimous No. 2 seed. SB Nation Chris Dombbertean, ESPN.com's Joe Lundari and SI.com's Andy Glockner all have the Buckeyes (25-6, 13-5 Big Ten) projected the second-best team in their respective region.

However, that could all change at the Big Ten Tournament if Ohio State can't win the crown.

The Akron Zips (21-10, 13-3 MAC) are the favorite to earn the Mid-American Conference Tournament title and is slated as a unanimous No. 14 seed. But again, a slip up in the league tourney would more than likely end their hopes for a NCAA Tournament bid.

The Xavier Muskateers (19-11, 10-6 A10) are predicted to earn an at-large bid into March Madness, however, they will probably play in a first-round game in Dayton, OH.

Speaking of Dayton, the Flyers are a solid bubble team, as Glockner has them in as a No. 11 seed, but Dobbertean and Lundari have them out.

Here's a composite look of some of the Bracketology reisults:

SB Nation's Dobbertean: Ohio State (2), Akron (14), Xavier (13, first-round)
ESPN's Lunardi: Ohio State (2), Akron (14), Xavier (12, first-round)
SI.com's Glockner: Ohio State (2), Akron (14), Xavier (11), Dayton (11, first round)
NITology: Dayton (3)
