2012 NFL Draft: Cleveland Browns Zero In On RB Trent Richardson

The Cleveland Browns have swapped the fourth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft for the Minnesota Vikings No.3 pick along with three late-round picks in order to secure former Alabama running back Trent Richardson, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Browns were worried that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were also attempting to make a deal for the Vikings pick in order to swoop in and select Richardson, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.

Richardson is considered the best draft prospect at the running back position since Adrian Peterson was eligible in 2007. He ran for 1,679 yards and 21 touchdowns in his junior season for BCS champion Alabama Crimson Tide.
