Before the Indians had even finished showering the stench off a brutal three-game stretch at Fenway Park Sunday afternoon, the club decided to designate struggling veteran reliever Dan Wheeler for assignment. The right-hander was atrocious out of the pen for Manny Acta, and it all came to boil on Sunday when he gave up five runs in the seventh inning on Sunday.
The Indians did not immediately announce who would fill Wheeler's roster spot until Monday afternoon. According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, Jeremy Accardo has been tabbed as the arm to fill Wheeler's position in the bullpen. Via @MLBastian:
RHP Jeremy Accardo promoted from AAA to take Wheeler's spot in bullpen. Had 2.76 ERA, 2.3 K/BB & 1.16 WHIP at Columbus.

Accardo is another veteran righty who spent most of his career in Toronto before signing with Baltimore in 2011.
