Kentucky Derby winner I'll Have Another looks to add another leg of horse racing's Triple Crown to his list of accomplishments on Saturday eveining in the 2012 Preakness from Pimlico race track in Baltimore, Maryland.
The run for the Black-Eyed Susans will see an11-horse field racing a mile and three-sixteenths which may is just a bit shorter than the mile and a quarter the horses ran in the Derby, but that short difference can make a big difference. Just ask favorite Bodemeister who lost the Derby in the final one sixteenths of the race to hard charging winner I'll Have Another.
Despite the small field, there is plenty of quality with the two Derby stars. Bodemeister will go off as the favorite, currently at 8 to 5 odds to win followed by I'll Have Another at 5 to 2 odds. Creative Cause and Went The Day Well are next in the line of favorites, both at 6 to 1.
The post positions as announced on Wednesday night along with the morning odds are as follows:
- Tiger Walk 30-1
- Teeth of the Dog 15-1
- Pretension 30-1
- Zetterholm 20-1
- Creative Cause 6-1
- Went The Day Well 6-1
- Bodemeister 8-5
- Daddy Nose Best 12-1
- I'll Have Another 5-2
- Optimizer 30-1
- Cozzetti 30-1
