On Sunday, the 96th running of the Indianapolis 500 will take place place to great fanfare. With 33 drivers vying for the checkered flag, the competition will be intense to be the lone individual standing at Victory Lane. One such individual will be 23-year old, New Albany, Ohio native Graham Rahal.
Driving for Honda and Chip Ganassi Racing, Rahal will be running in the 12th position finishing with a qualifying speed of 223.959. He is the son of Bobby Rahal, the winner of the 1986 race and will be making his fifth career start at Brickyard. He is the youngest driver in IndyCar history when he won his debut at St. Pete in 2008 at the age of 19 years, 93 days.
Despite his success in his debut, Rahal hasn't won another race since his debut, which currently stands at a 49 race drought. However, he did finish second and third at Brazil and Indy, respectively last season.
