The top seeded Purdue Boilermakers hope to complete a strong Big Ten baseball season with a tournament championship on Saturday night. The Boilermakers beat rival Indiana to advance to the final game, forcing the No. 2 seeded Hoosiers to play in an elimination game against the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday afternoon.
Michigan State remained in the tournament by beating the Ohio State Buckeyes in the loser's bracket. The Spartans are not only fighting for a Big Ten championship but also their post-season life as they need at least another win to merit consideration for an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament. Despite a strong conference record, Indiana with a 31-27 record needs to keep winning and take the tournament title to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
The Big Ten Network will televise all of the action from Huntington Park in Columbus. Here is the schedule:
3:30pm No. 2 Indiana (31-27) vs. No. 5 Michigan State (37-20) (elimination game)
7pm No. 1 Purdue (43-12) vs. previous game winner
